His public masterclass performances include playing Bach and Chopin for other world renowned artists such Sara Davis Buechner, Anton Nel and Italian concert pianist, Gabriele Baldocci (protégé of the legendary Martha Argerich). Having performed internationally in recitals throughout North America and Europe – as well as a soloist in Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concert, Op. 26 with the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra – Benjamin is a highly skilled performer and a unique teacher. In addition to teaching private and group piano to adults and children, he contracts violin, viola and voice lessons for individuals and families across the Chicagoland area.
Benjamin Gamze holds his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Piano Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. He is grateful to several other teachers who shaped his music: Lisa Siwek, Paulina Zamora and composer-pianist, Émile Naoumoff who helped him unlock his affinity for Liszt after attending private lessons in 2018. In his free time, Benjamin enjoys cooking, working out and spending time with his newborn nephew.
I love Bach and playing anything composed by Franz Liszt.
My teachers have always been the source of my inspiration to improve my craft. If I had to choose one of my favorite pianists of the past century, it would have to be Martha Argerich.
